Soul Mates

Everywhere I go
I’m searching.
Scouring faces
So I don’t miss yours.
Where will you be?

How can I live
Knowing any day
That you and I could meet,
Walk past me in the street.
How would I feel?

How can I love
Another while you
Roam the earth?

How? Because you are, so I am
And that’s enough to know.

  1. Ah, now I see why you thought my poem was about desire for another person – this poem sort of has similar themes, doesn’t it?… looking, wondering, searching, striving… The two poems go together quite well! I like your idea that existing somewhere for each other is enough – it’s romantic but also practical!

I like nothing better than feedback on my work. Please share your thoughts here. I'll always try to respond.
